Fed Keeps Rates Unchanged at 5.5%

Today, during its policy meeting, the Federal Reserve decided to maintain its current interest rates, continuing a trend of avoiding rate hikes for the second consecutive meeting in its ongoing policy-tightening phase.

As anticipated by many, the central bank's decision maintains the federal-funds rate target at the range of 5.25% to 5.50%.

Market participants will now shift their attention to the statement from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) and Chair Jerome Powell's remarks during the upcoming press conference. Primarily, investors will be looking for insights into the Fed's upcoming decision regarding a potential rate hike in December, which will be the last meeting of the year.
